GOD IS MOVING ME IN A DIFFERENT DIRECTION
There comes a time in ones life that a change of direction must take place. No, I am not leaving the Open Door Ministry. I am having to change direction within the Ministry. I don't like having to make the change, but it is best for all concerned that I make these changes. The reason these changes must be made is my health. As you know, I spent two weeks in Makiti Medical center in Manila, Philippines, in November because of pneumonia. If this had been an isolated illness, I would not need to change the focus of my work. But, this round of pneumonia was not an isolated incident. Pneumonia has been the scourge of my body since 2008. In fact, I have had pneumonia three times in three years, and each time I have spent time in the hospital. My lungs (especially the right lung) are in terrible condition. So with all that in mind and based on the advice from my family, Demar, the Adairsville congregation, my breakfast group friends and my lung doctor, I will not return to the Philippines or to Guyana.
So, what am I going to do? First, I will continue to help Demar in anyway I can. Second, I will continue to coordinate the purchase for medical evacuation insurance. Thirdly, I will continue to teach classes at PTC. I know that you are already wondering how I can do this. Always remember, God is a wonderful and powerful God. He has blessed this world in many ways. One of those blessings is the Internet. Through the Internet and the Skype program I will be able to teach classes at PTC as if I am on campus. Fourth, I will assist Demar in the raising of funds for PTC. Fifth, I will attend various lectureships to put up our display board which will allow people to become more aware of the Open Door Ministry.
I am not being put out to pasture. I will do everything within my power to spread the Gospel. My pasture is in Paradise. That's when I will cease my earthly work for the Master. Here is my work ethic: When the bugler plays charge, my response is “Get it done.”
Thank you for all the prayers and calls concerning my stay in the Philippines. I had a network of prayers that reached completely around the world. When people pray that much, everyone is a winner. YOU ARE THE BEST.
