HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL OF OUR PARTNERS IN MISSIONS
Submitted by Demar Elam on January 24, 2011 - 11:00pmOn behalf of our entire family we wish you a “Happy & Prosperous New Year!” Our prayer is that every eldership, congregation and individual reading this will be blessed with good health and happy days. We pray for each precious individual and dedicated congregation that you will reap the blessings from your love and sacrifices to give to missions. I believe the Bible is God’s Word and I believe every promise found in its pages. God’s Word says: “Give and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom.
“Isn’t Prayer Just a Hope?”
In a Bible class the question was asked, “Isn’t prayer just a hope?” Absolutely not! Prayer is a promise from God! Prayer is communication with the awesome God of heaven and earth. Prayer is a beseeching, a drawing near to God, a pouring out of the soul in supplication and a kneeling down before the mighty Creator. Christians are told to pray without ceasing (I Thess. 5:17). Why? Why are Christians instructed to pray without ceasing? Prayer avails (Jas. 5:16)!
The Church Needs a Global Mentality
The need is great for the church to refocus its vision on global evangelism. Satan cannot be confronted on just one battlefront, here in the U.S., because he is all over the globe trying to influence men for evil. Therefore, the outreach of God’s people for converting lost souls to Christ needs to be global, reaching far beyond our local congregations. In this new millennium the leaders in the church need to be focused, unwavering and driven if they are to reach the masses with the Gospel of Christ! Excitement needs to be generated in the hearts of every elder, deacon, preacher, missionary and congregate in the churches. Until the church becomes truly excited and enthusiastic, we will never succeed. Sadly, in too many places apathy for reaching the lost seems to be the norm.
PRAYING WITH EXPECTATION DEMANDS PREPARATION

Salomague Sur, Pangasinan Philippines
God is to be praised and thanked for His bountiful blessings which have enabled us to establish Philippine Theological College, located in Salomague Sur, Pangasinan Philippines. The college exists for the sole purpose of training men for ministry in the Philippines and for missionary service in China when God opens that door of opportunity. It seems that China is moving towards opening her doors to the outside world as they embrace free enterprise in a free market economy. This will necessitate the need for China to open her doors for the free flow of not only goods but other peoples who will bring various religions with them.

LAND PURCHASE AT TUSCHEN, GUYANA, FINALIZED
Submitted by Demar Elam on August 17, 2009 - 3:27pmThe elders at Westside in Griffin, GA, gave me permission to do what I could to secure the land purchased at Tuschen, Guyana, years ago. This land was about to be returned to the government because the proper legal work had not been done regarding the purchase. In Guyana, you must go into the government office and sign what is called the Deed of Transport and this had never been done.
