One of the things I’ve learned in the Open Door Ministry regarding our work is that it is constantly forward-looking. The past is there for us to learn lessons from experience, but not to rest on our laurels. In Philippians 3:13, the apostle Paul states the principle of forgetting what lies behind and looking forward to the future in terms of spiritual advancement. The same principle is true of any area of life, that we must look ahead if we are going to move forward; otherwise we’ll get behind.

   In II Corinthians 8, the apostle Paul, after having commended the brethren for financially beginning a good work (v.10), then said, “But now finish doing it also, so that just as there was the readiness to desire it, so there may be also the completion of it by your ability.”
